Let me be honest, moving through the job market as a trans professional in 2025 has been absolutely wild. I've lived it, and not gonna lie, it's turned into so much more accepting than it was just a few years ago.

Where I Began: Stepping Into the Workforce

When I first transitioned at work, I was completely shaking. No cap, I thought my work life was going to tank. But surprisingly, my experience ended up far better than I anticipated.

Where I started after transitioning was with a tech startup. The vibe was chef's kiss. The staff used my right pronouns from the get-go, and I wasn't forced to deal with those uncomfortable conversations of constantly fixing people.

Fields That Are Actually Trans-Friendly

Via my experience and talking with other trans folks, here are the sectors that are actually putting in effort:

**The Tech Industry**

Tech companies has been exceptionally progressive. Organizations such as leading software firms have solid DEI policies. I secured a role as a engineer and the coverage were unmatched – total support for transition-related expenses.

One time, during a team meeting, someone by mistake misgendered me, and literally three people right away spoke up before I could even respond. That's when I knew I was in the perfect spot.

**Entertainment**

Graphic design, advertising, media production, and artistic positions have been quite accepting. The environment in design firms generally is more inclusive naturally.

I spent time at a branding company where who I am was seen as an strength. They valued my diverse experience when developing authentic messaging. Additionally, the money was pretty decent, which slaps.

Gen Z is moving into the workplace with totally new perspectives about inclusion. They're aren't putting up with discriminatory workplaces, and employers are transforming or failing to attract skilled workers.
